The EuroHockey Championships 2025 will take place from August 8 to 17, 2025 at SparkassenPark Mönchengladbach. Eight women's and eight men's teams will compete for the title of "European Champion" over ten days. At the last European Championships, the Netherlands secured the title in Mönchengladbach in both the men's and women's categories. The German women finished third and the men fourth.
From game 1 to 40
In the group phase of the 2025 European Hockey Championships, there will be two groups of four teams each for the men's and women's teams. Each country will play each of its group opponents once, so there will be six group matches per group. After the group stage, the best two teams in the groups will play each other crosswise in the semi-finals. The losers of the semi-finals meet in the small final for third place. The winners of the semi-finals will compete for the European crown in the grand final. The third and fourth-placed groups will play for fifth to eighth place in the loser's bracket. The exact schedule for the EuroHockey Championships 2025 will be published in the coming months.
European champions punch their ticket for the 2026 World Championships
The 2025 European Hockey Championships are also about direct qualification for the 2026 World Championships in the Netherlands and Belgium. The winning teams of the EuroHockey Championships 2025 can book their ticket for the World Cup.
During the European Hockey Championships, the European Hockey ID Championships will also take place in Mönchengladbach. The venue is the GHTC Mönchengladbach grounds - just a few minutes away from the main stadium. The final of the special field hockey tournament will take place on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, in SparkassenPark. An absolute highlight for all participants.
