Opened in 2006, Hockeypark will once again host the EuroHockey Championships from August 8-17, 2025. The living room of field hockey in Germany was used for the Men's World Championships in 2006 and has since hosted many international field hockey matches.
The stadium seats 9,500 field hockey fans and creates an unforgettable field hockey atmosphere. The Hockeypark is a place of great German success: in 2011, our German men won the European Championship title in Mönchengladbach, while the women took the silver medal at the same tournament. In 2006, the Honamas even won World Cup gold at Hockeypark and in 2023, the Danas won the European Championship bronze medal.
Of course, Hockey Germany is hoping for more triumphs for the men and women in 2025. With the right support from the fans in Mönchengladbach, anything is possible next year too.
Since 2015, the Hockey Park has been officially named after the location's main sponsor and has been called "SparkassenPark Mönchengladbach" ever since. This name can be found on all signage. When the stadium is not needed for field hockey, it is transformed into an event location where concerts are held.
