Ambassadors of the EuroHockey Championships 2023

For the EuroHockey Championships 2023 in Mönchengladbach, five national players from our women's team and four national players of our men's team have agreed to become ambassadors of the home European Championships. With a broad chest, these nine leaders will lead the way and proudly carry the European Championships to the public at the Hockeypark in Mönchengladbach. Our Danas and Honamas will not only play at the European Championships in August. They are already living the home European Championships.

Capitain Mats Grambusch

"The double European Championships in my hometown means a lot to me, of course. I'm looking forward to seeing many familiar faces, to Mönchengladbach being the centre of attention and to hockey being as vibrant as it was in 2006 and 2011 after the World and European Championships."

Capitain Nike Lorenz

"The home European Championships means the first really big tournament for me in front of a home crowd."

Capitain Sonja Zimmermann

"A home European Championships means a lot to me! There is nothing better for me than playing in front of home fans and feeling the wind at my back."

Christopher Rühr

"The European Championships in my own country means a lot to me. Playing in front of 15,000 or 20,000 spectators in India is all well and good. But playing in front of 10,000 crazy fans from Germany is another real highlight and I'm really looking forward to it."

Kira Horn

"When I think of a double home European Championships, I think of an incredible atmosphere and an insane vibe!"

Anne Schröder

"The home European Championships in Mönchengladbach is the absolute highlight of the year in my calendar. I'm looking forward to a really big hockey party in Germany!"

Thies Prinz

"The home European Championships means for me to finally play where you watched as a little boy."

Julia Sonntag

"For me, the European Championships means everything! It means returning to the living room, to the hometown where it all started as a ball girl. I'm really looking forward to it. Be there for sure!"
